Box Box Box was inspired by the word "Ontology," which stuck with me after attending a poetry slam in Aspen, Colorado. A poet used the word to describe how humans place other humans into categories in order to better understand the world around them, which often simplifies who we are as individuals into hierarchies such as race, sex, religion, et al.

This piece has to do with three vessels, which on appearance (drawer pulls, lids, and form) refuse to be a drawer, box, or cabinet. Each part needs investigation in order to find out what it truly is. The "Box" has a lid that can only be opened when the drawer handle is pulled, the "Drawer" is locked to only be opened when its lid is opened, and the "Cabinet" is made to only hold two specific boxes.

This is probably just about my own stubbornness.
